Higharc Selected for Fast Company’s 2024 Best Workplaces for Innovators in Software and Computing

Durham, NC–September 10, 2024–Fast Company today announced its sixth annual Best Workplaces for Innovators list, honoring organizations and businesses that demonstrate an inspiring commitment to encouraging and developing innovation at all levels. Higharc, the connected cloud platform for homebuilding, joins Adobe, Canva, Roblox, and others as a leader in the Software and Computing category

“Homebuilding has gone decades without major innovation. Higharc is bringing the industry into the digital age thanks to the combined efforts and creativity of our team — experts from software, architecture, and construction,” said Marc Minor, CEO of Higharc. “We are united under the vital goal of helping to build better homes, more affordably. In selecting Higharc, Fast Company highlights the outsized impact a small team of passionate, multidisciplinary creators can have on today’s largest and most important industries.”

Higharc’s Homebuilding Cloud replaces the “pen and paper” processes and decades-old design tools that dominate the industry. Builders get everything they need to design, estimate, sell and build homes in one cloud platform with Higharc. Whenever a home plan changes, every team gets the update in the format they need — from 3D sales tools to lists of materials to construction documents for permitting. This level of automation reduces the time it takes to build dramatically. In 2023, the adoption of Higharc’s generative design technology helped builders eliminate 90 days–a 75% reduction–from the time required to design and launch new communities.

The 2024 Best Workplaces for Innovators list ranks 100 winners from a variety of industries, including entertainment, biotech, consumer packaged goods, marketing, education, healthcare, and many more. To earn Best Workplaces for Innovators recognition, all of this year’s winners (as well as dozens of additional finalists that appear online) completed an application that addressed questions about projects, investment, company-wide programs, and workplace culture. Fast Company editors evaluated every application and conducted additional research to generate a score for each company. A separate judging panel then reviewed the top 125 companies to reach a consensus on the overall winner. Applications for specific categories were judged solely by Fast Company editors.

“Innovation is a global priority that cuts across all industries, and this year’s list reflects that diversity,” says Brendan Vaughan, editor in chief of Fast Company. “The top ten features four companies headquartered outside of the U.S. and includes representatives from technology, advertising, finance, biotech, pharmaceuticals, ecommerce, and the nonprofit sectors.”
